1. Subsystem Scientist Activities (R. Lucas, and all) The relations with subsystems are starting slowly (with some exceptions). Probably the Subsystem Scientists who have not yet been contacted by their corresponding subsystem leaders should venture to make the first step. 2. Status of memo 11 review (all) [see working documents]
   The replies to comments were ready on the above page. No comments were made in the meeting; Robert will send them now to the reviewers (the review is scheduled for July 18th).
   
   
3. Status of Aips++ rating and benchmarking (Steve Myers)
   • Steve is currently writing a template to fill out during evaluation.
   • He will then take 20 or so requirements and start auditing them to test the auditing process.
   • The process will then be discussed with Brian and Athol. It is now intended that Brian himself will investigate with AIPS++ the failures found by the auditors.
   • The requirements (or chapters) will be split between the three auditors (Steve, Koh-Ichiro and Francois).
   Comments that followed:
   • the goal of the audit is first to make a list of features present and missing, then to evaluate to quality of existing features (in the next available version, believed to be more or less ready now).
   • As a rule, during the audit aips++ people may be contacted for information or help either directly or through Steve.
   • When bugs are found, the normal bug report system should be activated.
   • At all steps where problems are found Brian Glendenning should be kept informed.
   • Francois reported numerous problems with existimg simulator features (poor or absent documentation).
   • Tony Willis mentioned poor quality of developer's documentation and encouraged us to complain.
   • Joe Schwarz reported some documentation problems during the NRAO summer school and found they were not yet fixed.
   • It is intended to start the benchmarking only after the audit (september).
   • The speed of development is an issue (mentioned by Francois Viallefond and Tony Willis): it seems related to poor documentation of C++ classes leading to a trial-and-error process.
   • The IRAM/Aips++ test is showing only slow progress (A. Kemball seems taken by many administrative duties).
